PRODUCTION

KREMENCHUG WHEEL PLANT manufactures more than 500 modifications of wheels, rims and wheel components.
The area of production facilities is 103 thousand sq. meters.
The capacity of the plant is 6,5 million of wheels and rims per year, 3,5 million of wheels for passenger cars inclusive.

There are five basic production shops. The auxiliary production consists of a machine tool building shop, stamping tool production shop, power station. It is the advantage of the enterprise to have its own machine tool building and stamping tool production shops, where tooling and special equipment are produced. There are 1232 metal-working equipment items, 73.1% of them are used in basic production, 45% of them are specialized equipment.

The main process equipment includes 58 production lines, among them:
• 20 rim lines
• 11 disc stamping lines
• 12 automated and mechanized lines for assembly and welding of wheels
• 5 prime-coating and painting lines
• 2 wheel packaging lines
• 1 paint coating area for large-sized products

TECHNOLOGIES
The technical capacities of the KREMENCHUG WHEEL PLANT allows to manufacture rims 12-48 inches in diameter and 4-36 inches wide. The production machines allow to produce wheel rims of high load carrying capacity from rolled steel of 8.5 mm thickness. While manufacturing of these rims, three calibrating operations (expansion, reduction, expansion) are used to ensure minimal tolerances and run-out of the rim.

The start of using in the factory of the new CNC-flow-forming machine of the company REPKON allowed to put into production the wheels with the diameter up to 22,5 inches with flow-formed discs, wich enable to improve operational characteristics of truck wheels due to reduction of weight of the wheels. Flow-formed discs are manufactured by the method rotary flow-forming of steel discs with the thickness up to 15 mm.

To make the strength of the products higher, to stabilize profiling process, to ensure parameters, the plant started to manufacture the rims and discs from steel grades 10YuA, 15YuA, 08GSYuT(F), 07GFYu, which are in correspondence with E250, E275, E335.

There is a special design departments to develop new types of wheels.

During introduction into production, improvement and finishing of the
design, and quality inspection the wheels are tested. The tests of wheels are carried out in a test lab, which was accredited in accordance with the Certification System UkrSEPRO. The wheels are tested in accordance with GSTU 3-88-190-99 "Steel wheels for pneumatic tyres. Test methods." This standard corresponds to Russian one OST37.001.404-97 and to international standard ISO 3006-95.

PAINT COATING

At KREMENCHUG WHEEL PLANT JSC the technology of powder coating of wheels is applied, what ensures corrosion resistance of coatings in corrosion medium.

Lasting properties of the paint coat is 800-1000 hours in a salted fog chamber.
The wheels are coated both by electrostatic method ( CORONA ) and by tribostatic method ( TRIBO ) on the integrated paint coating lines.

The equipment for powder coating allows to change the colour of paints. At present, the consumer can request for various colour shades of powder coating of Kremenchug wheels: claret, gold, silver, green, red, blue, dark blue and others.

The new line for painting by the method of the cathodic electrodeposition was put into production. One of the advantages of the this method of painting is the high mechanical strength and corrosion resistance.

PACKAGING

To provide safety of the products while shipping to the consumer, modern packaging technologies of finished products are used at KREMENCHUG WHEEL PLANT JSC.

The wheels are packed up on the mechanized packaging lines. Paint coated wheels with separators between them throughout the height are tiered up on wooden pallets. The formed packets are tied up with polypropylene baling band. The ends of the baling band are cramped.

The packets are covered with polyethylene film and wrapped around with stretch film in 2 layers for additional fixation of wheels in packets in order to protect them against damages while shipping to the customer and to store them in the open air if necessary.

Wheel rims for combine harvesters and tractors are tiered up in such a way that it is very convenient to handle them and to carry out storage operations.

MARKING

The marking of Kremenchug wheels is located on the face of the rim and includes: trade mark of manufacturer, year and month of manufacture, type of rim, offset, wheel load, symbols of conformity to standards of Ukraine and Russian Federation.
